Cheryl Martinez has a wide range of interests within the entire communication spectrum. After earning her degree in communications and journalism, she jumped directly into the world of corporate communications as advertising director at Nady Systems, a manufacturer of live transmission components. Martinez later worked as a television news journalist at ABC, CBS and NBC affiliates in San Francisco and Sacramento, where she honed her writing skills. After moving to Germany, she held various positions as a writer and video producer and director. Her regular columns have been published in both the “Rhine Magazine” and “Pacific Citizen” magazines.
Am American citizen who has worked in over 15 different countries, Cheryl Martinez has been called a "multicultural world citizen at home in Europe as well as Asia and the Americas". As such, multicultural competence is a key phrase in both her business and private lives. That is why, in addition to copywriting, Martinez holds seminars that empower expatriate employees by accelerating their understanding of German culture and how it affects them in the workplace. She is also co-owner of the Düsseldorf-based design studio phaze two, with her partner Uwe Wiesemann. The company produces high-end moving imagery for television and film, media installations, live events and other on-screen visuals.
